We often think of tourism as something we ‘do’ or somewhere we go, but we rarely talk about why it matters. Understanding tourism as a whole, and not looking at it simply as a trip, is detrimental to the future of the industry - and the planet. With the aid of the United Nations SDGs, a set of 17 Global Goals adopted by the UN’s 193 Member States, we can see the real, sustainable difference our travels can make. This session will explore how our travels impact the world around us, and how we can contribute to a brighter global future, whether on the road or at home.
